Brazilian cherry hardwood floor is different from
American cherry which is typically used in furniture. American cherry will
provide a lighter color, more of an orange-blond, whereas the Brazilian cherry
when finished is a brownish- red color that will turn into a deep red-brown over
time. The exotic wood comes from very large trees that average 120 feet of
growth, and the wood is a medium to coarse texture.

Brazilian cherry
hardwood floor is not any more difficult to care for than other hardwoods;
however it may be more susceptible to water damage because of the rich color. If
you are going to use hardwood in the kitchen area, be sure to use a rug or mat
close to the sink to provide extra protection. Be sure to follow all of the
proper care instructions to keep your flooring looking beautiful.
